No you don't, simply click on the 'pay by credit card' link and follow the usual payment steps, it's no different to any other payment system.


How many letters can I get on my greatplatemate number plate surround?


You can fit 40 capital letters or 50 small case letters with spaces counting as a small case letter.


If you need 40 or less letters of any mix, capitals or small case, then you’re OK your message will fit!


If you need more than 40, please remember that a capital letter counts as 1 ½ small case letters. But don’t stress over it, order it and we’ll do our best to sort it out for you, if there’s a problem we’ll email you. If you’d like to check with us first then that’s OK too, just email  your message to greatmate@greatplatemate.com and well look at it for you.

What number plate sizes fit the greatplatemate number plate surround?


The greatplatemate number plate surround, or frame, is adjustable in increments of 1mm from 110mm to 165mm and has been designed to fit the following sizes of number plates: the Standard UK and European size plate is 520mm x 111mm (20.5” x 4 3/8”), 520mm x 121mm (20.5” x 4 ¾”), 520 x 127 (20.5” x 5”), 520 x 140 (20.5” x 5.5”), 520 x 152 (20.5” x 6”) and 520 x 165 (20.5 x 6.5”).


What are the overall dimensions of a Greatplatemate number plate surround?


The greatplatemate number plate surround is adjustable for height, the width is fixed at 533mm (21”) and the height of the car surround is the height of your existing number plate – plus 2.5mm (1/10”) added to the top and 22 mm (9/10”) to the bottom.


How do I fit my greatplatemate number plate surround?


We recommend that you screw your number plate and surround to your vehicle. But you can, if you wish, fix the surround to your car with double sided sticky pads. We provide 5 double sided sticky pads which MUST be used to stick your number plate into the surround regardless of how you intend to attach the surround to your vehicle. Our surround is adjustable and the sticky pads ‘lock’ the two halves of the surround together. Spacers are built in to the surround and we suggest you use them when screw fitting, they simply pop out and when fitted help reduce distortion of your number plate should you over-tighten the screws. Please note that our surrounds are made in an engineering environment and as such may have traces of oil and grease on them – all surfaces that are to receive sticky pads MUST be thoroughly cleaned with a degreasing cleaner.

CARE FOR YOUR SURROUND
"It's good to be clean" an old Manxman once said, and those around him agreed - we're sure your car does too. So wash away, but please be careful if you use a power washer, the extreme pressure from the nozzle of the washer, when too close to the decal, can cause the decal to lift - keep the power washer well away from the decal - thanks - and wash on"!

What can and what can't I say on my greatplatemate number plate surround?


We believe in freedom of speech and will, within reason, print whatever you like. However, there are a few words we will not use simply because we just don't feel it would be right, so the milder swear words are fine if you feel you need to use them, but the more colourful parts of Gordon Ramsay's vocabulary are out – sorry Gordon. Similarly, we reserve the right not print anything that might be considered inflammatory, insulting or offensive to any particular group of people – life's too short....


How long will it take to get my surround?


Once we get your order and payment is confirmed we will print and post your surround within 7/14 days  but we'll try to do it as quickly as we can.


Who else gets to see my details when I order from you?


No-one, we will not sell or share information you give to greatplatemate – we don't like it when it happens to us, so we won't let it happen to you. Please see Paypal’s terms and conditions for their policy.


Conditions/Policy


By ordering by telephone, post, fax or by using our website and/or registering your details with greatplatemate.com, you confirm your agreement to our terms and conditions including those on privacy.


The following terms and conditions apply to all business transactions carried out by 'greatplatemate' a registered trading name of eie Ltd, a Company incorporated in the Isle of Man in the UK and referred to hereinafter as 'the Company'. The person applying for bespoke goods from 'the Company' is hereinafter referred to as 'the Purchaser'. Your statutory rights are not affected.


It is the sole responsibility of 'the Purchaser' to ensure that all the correct details are entered into Company internet forms and submitted or given to the Company's representative at the time of purchase. The Company's representative shall use standard phonetics to refer to combinations requested by the purchaser.


Persuant to section 57D and to 57G paragraph ( c ) of the Isle of Man Government Consumer Protection Act 1991, the customer will not have the right to cancel the contract by giving notice of cancellation 'for the supply of goods made to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalised or which by reason of their nature cannot be returned or are liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly'.


The 'Virtual Surround' is a tool provided to give the purchaser an indication of the various colour backgrounds, colours of text and amount of text available on a greatplatemate number plate surround. The 'Virtual Surround' is not intended as an accurate representation of the final number plate surround and no guarantees are given as to the accuracy of the colours and text spacing.


Greatplatemate believes in freedom of speech and will within reason print whatever the customer wants, however, in showing a greatplatemate number plate surround in a public place, the owner assumes all responsibilities and greatplatemate cannot be held responsible for any offense caused, or complaints by members of the public or for any copyrights and other intellectual rights that may be infringed upon by the customers choice of text.


Affiliate Scheme - greatplatemate reserves the right to refuse membership of its affiliate scheme, or terminate membership of its affiliate scheme without explaination.
From time to time greatplatemate may offer number plates for sale for charity organisations, the aim of this is to raise money for those charities. To make this possible, charity surrounds will not pay commission to affiliates.


Greatplatemate reserves the right to refuse an order without explanation.


Greatplatemate reserves the right to make any changes in the specification of the goods which are required to conform with any applicable safety or statutory requirements or which do not materially affect the goods quality or performance as part of a policy of continuous improvement.

Greatplatemate shall not be liable to the customer or be deemed to be in breach of contract by reason of any delay in performing or any failure to perform any of greatplatemates obligations in relation to the goods or services if the delay or failure was due to any cause beyond greatplatemates reasonable control or due to the customer's fault.

Refunds


A full refund will only be given provided that the failure is through no fault of the Purchaser but by the Company. The Company's liability is strictly limited to a full refund only and no claims for damages; interest on monies paid or any other expenses shall be entertained. The Company is not responsible for any damage to vehicles or the paint of vehicles during the fitting or removal of the greatplatemate number plate surround – if you are unsure how to fit or remove your surround, please consult a suitably qualified person. You must contact the Company for a returns number. It is the customers responsibility to ensure that the number plate surround will fit the space available on the back of the customers vehicle – please see our f.a.q. section for surround dimensions. The greatplatemate number plate surround must be fitted in accordance with the fitting instructions provided.


Legal


If any term, provision, covenant or condition of this agreement is held by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, void or unenforceable, the remaining provisions of this agreement shall remain in full force and effect and shall not be affected, impaired or invalidated. These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between the parties in respect of the purchase.

Delivery, Post and Packing


Orders are despatched 2nd class, 7/14 working days after the order is received. Greatplatemate reserves the right to despatch goods earlier than stated and some orders may require a signature on delivery. All orders are shipped using the Isle of Man Post Office, Royal Mail, other postal companies and carriers - the Company cannot accept responsibility for delays or errors caused by the postal system, third party carriers or electronic mail. It is the responsibility of the consumer to pay for duty within the country of delivery. Greatplatemate will not accept any responsibility for unpaid duty on any orders sent. Only payment for goods and delivery charge have been charged on the customers invoice. Title, risk of damage to or loss of the goods shall pass to the customer as from the date of despatch from Greatplatemate.

All products are priced in British Pounds, v.a.t. has been added where applicable. Payment by cheque and return of goods are to be addressed to greatplatemate, 2 Greeba Drive, Onchan, Isle of Man, IM3 1EN. Customers from E.C. Member states will be charged UK VAT unless they are ordering from a business registered for VAT within the E.E.C. and the order is placed or confirmed by fax or mail, on company stationary clearly stating the registered VAT number (a copy of your certificate of VAT registration may be required for your first order). The V.A.T. number for eie Ltd is GB 00316273.
